Jigsaw Children’s Hospice in Dalston, Carlisle provides one to one care for children and young adults with life limiting illnesses, as well as extending care and support to their families. Jigsaw’s home-from-home environment allows the nurses to match the children and young adults home routine as closely as possible, ensuring a smooth, relaxing and peaceful transition between the home and hospice environments.

Bell Group was proud to work alongside Johnstones Trade recently and complete the £10,000 makeover at the main street premises of Rotherham Rise; Rotherham Rise won the Johnstones Trade Community Spirit Award in June of this year.

The facility has been transformed into a women’s centre to provide space for all women to come together to gain confidence, develop skills, take part in training, access groups and activities, as well as providing support for women and children affected by domestic and sexual abuse.

The tired playground area of St Leos & Southmead Primary School has been transformed by artwork designed by local company art4design, making the space a much brighter and happier place for the pupils to play.

Bell Group donated a wide range of paint colours to bring the designsof art4design to life and were so pleased to be able to support this project.

New Gorbals’ Head of Maintenance, Michael Houghton, sadly passed away at the beginning of this year. Since then, the team at New Gorbals Housing Association have been working hard to make sure that Michael gets the tribute he deserves.

Michael was a big football fan and a keen player, so it seemed fitting that his colleagues organise a 5 a side football tournament as a tribute to him.

Bell Group has showcased its commitment to the next generation by joining The 5% Club, an industry led initiative focussed on driving momentum into the recruitment of apprentices, graduates and sponsored students.

The campaign was initiated by defence technology company QinetiQ with an aim to get the UK’s public and private companies to commit to raising the number of apprentices, sponsored students and graduates on formal programmes to 5% of their total workforce within five years.

Every year JRHT undertake external painting of their properties with several organisations being invited to tender for the work. The process to procure the work not only involves comparing the most competitive prices, but also requires the contractor to work with JRHT in delivering the requirements set out by the National Skills Academy for Construction (NSAfC). Contractors make commitments to providing, Work Experience Placements, Apprentices, & Job Creations throughout the contract as well as added social value in the form of community investment activities.
